About COHS:
Dr. Stephen J. Moss, Chairman of the Samuel Harris Fund for Children's Dental
Health Grants Program, conceived the idea to create a centralized resource
center for community-based dental prevention programs.
With generous funding from a grant from the American Dental Association Foundation
(ADAF) and the Alliance of the American Dental Association, the Community
Oral Health Station was developed to provide community leaders with information
and resources that support and enhance their delivery of oral health education
and care to the public.
The objectives of the site include:
- Disseminating a diversity
of authoritative educational materials designed with sensitivity to age,
ethnic, cultural and language differences, and will help reduce overlap
of programs and duplication of effort.
- Providing a variety
of successful access to care and educational programs will be showcased
as models that other programs can emulate.
- Access to downloadable
Adobe documents with useful materials, giving volunteers a fast, convenient
and cost-effective conduit for information that fits with their programs.
- Sources of financial
and in-kind support for organizations seeking program funding and other
resources.
- Grant application
reference materials and samples of winning proposals to help organizations
compete for grant support.
- Metrics on the outcomes
of various funded projects to quantify the potential of specific project
types and expenditures.
This site is growing every
day. Check back often for access to the latest programs.
